Elementary French Tutor

**Position Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions in French (reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills).
- Tailor lesson plans to align with the student’s learning style, grade level, and school curriculum.
- Use creative and engaging teaching strategies to build students' confidence and love for the French language.
- Track and assess student progress, adjusting instruction as needed.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates and recommendations.
- Maintain a supportive, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
**Qualifications**:
- Fluency in French (oral and written); native or near-native proficiency preferred.
- Experience working with elementary-aged children in an educational setting.
- Teaching or tutoring experience in French is an asset.
- Strong understanding of the elementary French curriculum (in Alberta or British Columbia is a plus).
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Reliable and self-motivated with a passion for helping children succeed.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor’s degree (or in progress) in Education, French, or a related field preferred.
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (or willingness to obtain).
- Access to reliable transportation or ability to tutor remotely if required.
**Job Type**: Part-time
Pay: $28.00-$32.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- Weekends as needed
Work Location: In person
Expected start date: 2025-02-03
