**Purpose**:
The Assistant Operations Manager is the leader in logistics, proficiency and safety. They are the core of ensuring the branch runs at its upmost efficiency by providing a safe and streamlined environment for our teammates.

**Specific Duties**:
The Assistant Operations Manager plays a key role in ensuring the branch operates efficiently by overseeing daily logistics, scheduling, and safety protocols. They lead and mentor field personnel, enforce company policies, and support customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include job scheduling, inventory management, vendor coordination, fleet oversight, and assisting with training programs. Additionally, they handle contract management, invoicing, and plant health care services while participating in the after-hours emergency response program. A more detailed overview below:

- Oversee, coordinate, and perform plant health care (PHC) services as needed.
- Oversee, coordinate, and perform general tree care (GTC) services as needed.
- Assist with training services in the field as required.
- Assist with consulting services in the field as required.
- Sales_
- Consult with clients and sell PHC services to enhance tree health and sustainability.
- Complete resident requests, including follow-up communications regarding PHC and GTC services.
- Scheduling_
- Assist with schedule all jobs within GTC, PHC, Consulting, and Training.
- Communicate schedule updates and changes to Arborists and field personnel.
- Mobilize crews and provide morning and afternoon briefings in collaboration with the Branch Manager, GTC Supervisor, and Training/Consulting teams.
- Participate in the after-hours emergency pager program shared among managers and supervisors.
- Record Keeping/Inventory_
- Assist management in placing orders and maintaining inventory for supplies.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with external vendors.
- Manage contracts, submit progress reports, and oversee scheduled invoicing with clients.
- Safe Work Practices_
- Promote and maintain a safe, efficient work environment for all team members.
- Enforce SavATree Canada’s policies and procedures related to safety and operational efficiency.
- Support equipment repair and maintenance efforts, ensuring fleet management oversight in coordination with other supervisors.
- Leadership_
- Lead and mentor field personnel to uphold high-quality standards and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Assist in developing and coordinating training programs in partnership with the GTC Supervisor and Training Manager.
- Foster a collaborative work environment that encourages growth, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

**Qualifications**:

- ISA Certified Arborist required
- ISA Tree Risk Assessor Qualification, or obtain shortly after hire (within 12 months)
- Possess a Class 5 Drivers Licence with Air Brakes Endorsement required
- BC Pesticide Applicator Licenses (Landscape and Noxious Weeds) required
- A degree in Arboriculture, Forestry, Environmental Sciences or equivalent field experience required
- First Aid Certificate required
- WHMIS Certificate required

**Knowledge, Skills, and Other Attributes**:

- ISA Certified Arborist required

**Relationships**:
Directly reports to the Branch Manager. Works closely with field personnel, Arborists, GTC Supervisor, Training Manager, Consulting team, and external clients, contractors, and third-party organizations.

**Working Conditions**:

- Primarily office-based with frequent outdoor exposure to varying weather conditions while overseeing or performing field operations.
- Requires physical fitness, including lifting moderately heavy objects during field visits.
- Full-time role with standard hours, occasional early mornings, evenings, weekends, and participation in the after-hours emergency response program.
- Regular travel within the branch’s service area for job site visits, client meetings, and field collaboration or safety training.
- Frequent interaction with scheduling, inventory systems, fleet/equipment maintenance tools, and personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

**Income**:
$85,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience.
