Seeking an RN who is driven, organized and resident focused for our **General Manager** role. The position will be managing 2 floors of an assisted living facility (maximum 24 residents) in Hamilton, ON. This is a 3-year pilot-project as we are trying a new concept in assisted living by transforming institutional settings into home-like environments that are focused on staff empowerment and resident centered care. We are seeking someone who is willing to embrace a new care philosophy and is passionate about providing care to elders.

**The first few months of this role will be spent in our Administrative office in Mississauga while we are renovating the space in Hamilton.**

During that time, the General Manager will:

- Take part in all training.
- Assist in establishing operational framework.
- Assist in the hiring of staff.

**Responsibilities in the Assisted Living facility**:

- Managing the day-to-day operations.
- Providing education and training for all staff.
- Ensuring residents’ individual care plans are being followed.
- Reviewing, up-dating, developing, and enforcing all company policies, procedures and documentation.
- Ensuring the facility operates in compliance with all local, provincial, and federal regulations.
- Working collaboratively with the community and with provincial and industry associations.
- Maintaining a budget, providing service rates and overseeing billing and set fees. and
- Preparing reports and attending meetings as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Nursing degree/diploma, geriatric experience preferred
- Excellent skills in time and stress management, a calm, patient, and professional demeanor, and an understanding of both the clinical and business aspects of running a retirement home and/or assisted living facility
- Administrative skills and knowledge of MS Office suite
- Great organizational skills
- Experience leading a team
- Takes initiative and is looking to part of a project from the ground up

**Term**: 3-year contract with the possibility of extension

**Salary**: $100K+ (based on experience)

**Hours**: Minimum 40 hours per week, however these may not be standardized and may require more than 40 hours per week, including the possibility of being on-call nights, weekends, and holidays

**Vacation**:4 weeks
