**Lead Hand**

A Lead Hand at Cudmore’s Landscape & Design are experienced, skilled team members who set the tone on a job site with their productivity and efficiency, reliable and safe drivers and equipment operators and are meticulous with skilled tasks and execute with attention to detail and high quality.

Our Lead Hands will work on multi-week residential design-build projects and install natural stone slab steps, dry-lay square cut flagstone, install a Blu60 patio, lead a rip-and-tear to open a new project and lay out plants and lead large-scale planting projects and renovations.

Your projects will vary and we are looking for someone with the range and a rounded skillset to perform in these key areas within our service offering. This well rounded skillset is aligned with our industry’s Red Seal certification - if you’re interested in pursuing this or have completed it already, we’d love to discuss further.

With a detailed understanding of sequencing and efficiency, you will drive a project forward with exacting execution and collaboration with Crew Leads and Team Members. We expect you may have three to five years of experience in our industry or, one-to-two years complemented by industry specific schooling to fulfill these expectations, but we are focussed on disposition and capacity vs. specific years of service. It’s a bonus if you’re already headlong in industry specific training or schooling - we place a huge value on continued learning and the passion to continually develop and improve.

- You don’t have to have all the answers, but possessing the curiosity and drive to follow through and find out is incredibly important to us.

Areas of skills for a Lead Hand at CLD, include:

- Reading technical landscape plans and executing against them
- Precast stone installation, base preparation, calculations and stone cutting
- Natural stone installation (flagstone, armour, weathered limestone)
- Retaining wall installations
- Following planting plans, finishing projects with high skill and grooming standards
- Completing clean ups, understanding how to make a client’s site look ‘Cudmore’s finished’
- Understanding how to maintain a safe, tidy work site.
- A Lead Hand should also support team member development, sharing knowledge and skills, while delegating and empowering Team Members in a supportive fashion
- Work closely with their Crew Lead to achieve outstanding results

Certifications & designations that are relevant:

- Skidsteer and excavator operator certification
- First AID
