**What you’re responsible for**:

- Developing, implementing and ensuring that the business plan and associated budgets are met
- Establishing and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with MGAs and other key partners through providing excellent customer service, sound advice and expertise
- Providing proactive portfolio management techniques to deliver enhanced profitability, including conducting ongoing reviews of existing accounts and programs, and conducting regular audits on the quality of accounts underwritten
- Working collaboratively with other product teams from Sovereign Specialty Lines Solutions, and other Underwriting and Claims teams where appropriate, to support the development of the portfolio
- Coaching and developing your team, recruiting and selecting talent, managing and rewarding performance, and fostering an agile culture to deliver on strategic objectives.

**To join our team**:

- Minimum 7 years of progressive Underwriting experience, with propensity for making informed, effective business decisions within a complex environment.
- Experienced working with MGAs and other non-broker distribution channels.
- Experience with designing and implementing continuous improvements to system, processes, and products.
- Post-Secondary education in related field preferred.
- Strong technical expertise and sound underwriting skillset in Property and liability
- CIP/FCIP/RPLU and/or CRM designations an asset.
