Assistant Shop Foreman Forewoman Full-time (Vintage Woodworks, located in Central Saanich)

If selected, you will play a role in developing training tools, provide training and guidance in real time, and under the guidance of the foreman delegate and monitor workflow, identify bottlenecks and bring solutions forward. On the floor you will work amongst our team specializing in providing restoration products for historic windows, doors, mouldings and brackets. We also have a large assortment of hardware for windows and doors. You will work with materials using both new and old techniques and like us; you will proudly stand behind our products. You will have the opportunity to be trained in the methods of millwork shops from years gone by and will experience the quality craftsmanship that can last a lifetime.

**Requirements include**:

- Experience in leading others (not limited to work experience), and or being responsible for your department.
- Experience working in an environment where wood products (or similar products) are manufactured, marketed, sold, and installed.
- Knowledge of door and window construction, installation and functionality would be a definite asset
- Knowledge of heritage or customized wood products would be an asset
- Familiar with through mortice and tenon joinery with the ability to operate required machinery and tools
- Experience assessing or estimating costs and reviewing blueprints
- Demonstrates a positive outlook and can-do attitude
- A keen eye for detail
- Good math skills for working out measurements and the ability to follow technical plans
- Manage workflow to meet deadlines and budgets while upholding the highest level of quality
- Ability to construct and train employees on window restoration and installation
- Effective time management skills
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills
- Ability to work effectively as a team member
- Good organizational skills and the ability to quickly respond to changes in priority
- Reliable and motivated with a strong work ethic *

3 to 5 Axis CNC programming and operations (SEM CNC/Maestro) experience is a benefit but not a requirement
