Backman Vidcom is the market leader for commercial audiovisual integration sales and service. That means we design, sell, install and service videoconferencing rooms, paging systems, digital signage systems, to name but a few. Our technicians work throughout NS, and beyond.

**Responsibilities and Duties**:

- Undertake site measurements
- Operate computer-assisted design (CAD) programs including AutoCAD and Visio
- Develop and prepare line drawings, as built drawings, elevation drawings, and other plans, diagrams or layouts from sketches
- Check and verify design drawings to conform to specifications and design data
- Coordinate activities with internal solutions representatives and project implementation teams
- maintain and develop block libraries
- Other duties within the scope of the position as required

**Mandatory Qualifications and Skills**:

- Post-secondary education (e.g., Architectural Technician Program, Technical Engineering, Engineering Design and Drafting Technology, etc.)
- Auto CAD (1- 2 years)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Self-directed, motivated, well organized
- Very high attention to detail
- technical mindset with desire to learn how to design and estimate AV systems.
