Role Title

Facilities Technician

Purpose of role

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Technician is responsible for visual inspection of space to ensure health and safety of Foresters dedicated space. This role is also responsible for minor repairs and maintenance, execution of moves and other daily operational tasks that may be assigned.

**Job Description**:
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily maintenance and inspections of all Foresters floors
- Routinely inspect equipment to determine additional maintenance or repairs required and report such conditions to the Facilities Manager or Facilities Coordinator(s).
- Perform assigned preventive maintenance duties and carry out non-base building unscheduled repairs of HVAC and plumbing fixtures, report completion and/or unusual conditions to the Facilities Manager.
- Ensure lighting systems are operational and report any required repairs
- Inspect critical equipment daily and provide reports
- Check and ensure all technical equipment in meeting rooms are functional
- Complete visual audit and confirm accuracy of assigned seating
- Provide updates to the facilities services coordinator on facilities requests assigned
- Carry out basic repairs and minor renovations, including painting, carpentry, installation or change of lights and fixtures
- Execute onsite event set-up and take-down
- Install and take down name plates, signage and posters
- Complete office and workstation moves

Key Qualifications
- Three or more years of experience in Facilities Operations
- Post-secondary education in related discipline, e.g.: BES Certification preferred.
- A general understanding of the operation and maintenance routines of HVAC systems
- Basic knowledge of MS Office 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Advanced Excel)
- Demonstrated strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple shifting priorities with accuracy, efficiency and in a timely manner.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees, vendors and building management team.
- Solid interpersonal skills to work cooperatively with all departments within the organization.
- Positive attitude and team-player
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment and be adaptable to changing demands.
- Capable of working independently and in a team environment
- Must be able to comfortably lift and maneuver over 50lbs
