THE REC SPOT IS HIRING

**After School Program Leader (Part-time)**

The REC Spot is a HIGH FIVE® Accredited recreational program, offering quality, child-centered recreational programs for families in the Leslieville area.

We are currently seeking responsible and enthusiastic additions to our after-school program team. RECE/OCT/CYW certification is an asset, but not mandatory. Previous experience working with children and/or developing recreational play and inquiry-based programming is required.

**Job Type**:Part-time

**Hours/Days**:3.5 hours per day, shift 2:30pm-6:00pm, Monday through Friday

**Location**:Roden Public School, 151 Hiawatha Rd, Toronto, ON M4L 2Y1

**Rate of Pay**: $18.00 to $23.00 per hour depending on experience

**Job Summary**:

- Plan, prepare and lead age-appropriate activities for school-age children based on observed interests (arts + crafts, group games, experiments, free play experiences, etc.).
- Plan, prepare and serve healthy, nutritious after school snacks.
- Play, interact, and engage with children in ways that foster supportive relationships and positive child development.
- Engage with parents and caregivers in a warm and welcoming manner and address all concerns with care, knowledge and an appreciation for cultural diversity and inclusivity.

**Qualifications**:

- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Experience working with children in recreational community settings and/or developing age-appropriate programming is required.
- Familiarity with HIGH FIVE® Principles/Certification is an asset, but training will be provided.
- Up to date First Aid/CPR Certification is an asset, but training will be provided.
- RECE/OCT/CYW certification is an asset.
- Criminal background checks will be completed.
