Accounting Team Lead

**The Role** Treewalk s an innovative and entrepreneurial mid-size accounting firm headquartered out of Vancouver with expanding office presence across the country.Treewalk is looking for an Accounting Team Lead to act as one of the firm’s to-go team members for all things Accounting and Bookkeeping. Our team will look to you for leadership and as a resource for your understanding of accounting principles, accounting software, and Treewalk best practices. You are a natural leader, enjoy sharing your wealth of knowledge, and take pride in mentoring and supporting junior team members. You have a knack for problem-solving, relish in continuous improvement, and are in pursuit of mastery in accounting and bookkeeping. **What will your days look like** - Field accounting and software-related questions on an ad hoc basis - Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes while effectively using Treewalk internal programs and systems - Review client bookkeeping on a monthly basis - Provide guidance and support to accounting team members on an as-needed basis - Understanding client needs, assessing resourcing required and aiding the team with meeting deliverables - Meet with clients on an as-needed basis to review bookkeeping, discuss file efficiencies or any other concerns they may have **Who are you?** - CPA designation, or in later stages of the CPA program - 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably with some experience leading a team - Excellent mentoring skills - you will be working with staff from different accounting backgrounds and should be able to adapt your communication style as needed - Clear understanding of bookkeeping and internal finance processes - General understanding of ASPE and/or IFRS accounting standards - Advanced experience with Quickbooks Online - Advanced experience with other accounting software and tools such as; Quickbooks Desktop, Sage 50, DEXT and Plooto - Experience documenting firm/client best practices and SOPs - Experience working with clients and multiple files at a time is an asset - Experience working with different industries is an asset **What’s in it for you?** - We will fully cover CPA schooling, annual dues and professional development courses.
