**Job Overview**

**Duties**
- Prepare and cook balanced meals and snacks according to established menus and dietary requirements.
- Ensure all food is served in a safe and hygienic manner, adhering to food safety standards.
- Manage food inventory, including ordering supplies, monitoring expiration dates, and minimizing waste.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and organizing storage areas.
- Collaborate with staff to accommodate special dietary needs or allergies of children.
- Assist in meal planning and development of new recipes that are appealing to children.
- Monitor food temperatures during cooking and serving to ensure safety standards are met.

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen setting.
- Food Safety Certification
- Cook Training from a recognized program considered an asset
- Familiarity with food handling practices and food safety regulations.
- Previous experience in the restaurant or food service industry is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively with staff and understand children's dietary needs.
- A passion for working with children and an understanding of their nutritional requirements.
