**About Us**

**Job Summary**
The Manual Lathe Operator is responsible for setting up and operating manual lathes to perform machining operations on metal parts and axle beam according to specifications, ensuring components meet required tolerances and quality standards. This role is critical in supporting our axle manufacturing processes and maintaining our reputation for high-quality products.

**Responsibilities**
- Set up, operate, and maintain **manual lathes** to machine metal components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and job orders.
- Measure, mark, and inspect workpieces using precision instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
- Perform machining operations such as turning, facing, threading, drilling, boring, and tapering.
- Monitor machine operations, adjusting as needed to maintain tight tolerances.
- Perform preventative maintenance and basic troubleshooting of machines.
- Ensure all work complies with company safety, quality, and production standards.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts produced, and machine settings.
- Collaborate with supervisors, quality inspectors, and other team members to meet production goals.

**Skills** **and Qualifications**
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience operating manual lathes (manufacturing environment preferred).
- Strong knowledge of machining principles, tooling, and measuring equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with safety standards and best practices in a machine shop environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical/machining certification is an asset

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
