We are currently looking for a Caretaker with some experience as Handyman for a high-end property located in Downtown Vancouver. The Caretaker is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the interior and exterior of the building and provides services including general maintenance, drywall, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and masonry work. This is a full time position.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cleaning and maintenance of the strata building building
- Replenish supplies such as soaps, paper towels and toilet paper
- Cleaning tasks such as dusting, mopping, sweeping, waxing floors and vacuuming
- Ordering new cleaning supplies as needed
- Creation of daily reports, registration of visits, monitoring the security of the building, programming fobs.
- Electrical work including replacement of bulbs, ballast, and minor appliance hardware repairs
- Plumbing work including fixing leaky pipes/faucets and choked drains
- Minor concrete repairs, aligning paver tiles etc.
- Maintaining fountains and other water bodies
- Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs
- General yard and landscape work including watering/tending to plants/garden
- Litter patrol and power washing
- General maintenance including emptying of trash bins, waste containers and recycle bins
- Meet trades people and coordinate access to building
- May move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- At least 3 years experience as a Caretaker and 1 as general handyman for strata.
- Possess a keen eye for detail
- Ability to proactively address maintenance issues with a focus on preventive maintenance
- Ability to coordinate with the cleaner and work in a team environment
- Must be able to maintain buildings and facilities, operate required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner
- Excellent time management skills; diligent and completes work in a timely manner
- Effective verbal and written communication in English
- Honest and trustworthy
- Demonstrate flexibility and sound work ethics
- Ability to deal with customers in a positive, courteous and respectful manner
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
