**Overall Objective**
The Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Coordinator will provide support to the OHS Manager by performing activities related to the Occupational Health and Safety Program, Potable Water Management Plan, and Food & Sanitation Management Plan.
**What You’ll Do**:
The OHS Coordinator is responsible and accountable to the OHS Manager for the following:
- Conduct a review of Airline Safety Reports for the purpose of determining the nature of report and event classification
- Create and manage occurrences records in the safety database
- Conduct assessments and investigations of Health and Safety Complaints / Hazardous Occurrences
- Conduct Hazard Identification Risk Assessment (HIRA) / Job Safety Analysis
- Prepare and distribute reports to support the monitoring and analysis of trends in workplace hazards, incidents, and accidents
- Schedule Workplace Health and Safety Committee (WHSC) meetings and provide support (e.g., status updates, notetaking, meeting minute distribution, and retention of records)
- Coordinate the delivery of health and safety training, this includes tracking training requirements and maintaining training records
- Maintain a potable water sampling plan and provide regular status updates
- Maintain a food and sanitation sampling plan and provide regular status updates
- Other duties as assigned
**What You’ll Need**:
- Post-secondary education in occupational health and safety or an equivalent level of work experience and education
- Excellent administrative, analytical, organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills (including report writing);
- Good knowledge of the Canada Labour Code Part II and associated occupational health and safety regulations
- Ability to work well with others in a positive and collaborative manner
- Bilingual (English and French) would be considered an asset
- Prior experience in the aviation industry would be considered an asset
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation would be considered an asset
**Environment and Scope**
- Mon to Fri, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
