WTS works collaboratively with other IT groups within Western’s faculties and support units to supply centrally supported technology solutions and services. **Responsibilities**: The Project Manager will lead project teams and contribute professional insight and project expertise to high-impact initiatives that advance Western’s teaching, research and student experience. In addition, this role will work to develop and mature the department’s project management tools and processes. Reporting to the Project Support Group Team Lead, the Project Manager is accountable for managing assigned projects. The Project Manager will work collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of required work. The role will define and manage the development of project plans, support the design, implementation and evaluation of the project components (including benefits), and will develop and/or coordinate communications, educational resources, project documentation and status reports for stakeholders as required. **Qualifications**: **Education**: - University Degree, or 3-year Community College Diploma with relevant experience, in a relevant field; University Degree in a technical or business-related field (Computer Science, Software Development, Software Engineering, HBA/MBA, etc) is preferred - Project Manager Professional Certification **Experience**: - 5 years project management experience - 3 years’ work experience in a complex operational environment - Strong familiarity with project management software is preferred - Experience in an educational environment would be an asset Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: - Proven success delivering complex, cross-functional projects to achieve outcomes on time, within scope and budget - Strong leadership, negotiation, and decision-making skills even through uncertainty - Ability to work with senior stakeholders and influencing strategy and decisions without authority - Ability to align projects with institutional goals and navigate organizational complexity - Ability to adapt quickly to changing institutional priorities and to help project teams to do the same - Ability to build trusted relationships and foster collaboration across departments and functional teams - Ability to anticipate and mitigate risk while balancing project outcomes - Ability to lead with empathy, resolve conflict, foster team growth and collaboration, and motivate team members to achieve effective results - Ability to prioritize project work based on evolving information, constraints, and external priorities - Ability to work independently and take initiative in ambiguous or evolving project environments and to guide the project team to do the same - Good written and verbal communication skills with ability to provide clear and adaptive communication in evolving environments to various stakeholders including faculty, staff, students, IT staff - Presentation and facilitation skills for managing team meetings and information sharing and for leading business discussions - Critical thinking and discernment to assess and scope areas for improvement and an ability to contribute to creative and innovative solutions - Exceptional organizational and time management skills to independently manage multiple competing priorities and projects, adapt quickly to emerging priorities, leveraging their organized and effective personal work environment. - Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task, time-block and capture emerging details for current and future consideration - Ability to identify project related data that can be analysed and interpreted to inform decision-making and system improvements to achieve project outcomes - Commitment to professional development and staying informed about emerging technologies and tools **Western Values Diversity**: Accommodations are available for applicants with disabilities throughout the recruitment process.
