**Reports to**: Production Manager
**Description of role**:
An exciting and challenging Procurement Specialist role within Yourgene Health, a growing PLC diagnostics business focused on excellence in the molecular diagnostics space.
A significant opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and driven individual with procurement knowledge and experience to:
- Establish and monitor procurement governance processes within Yourgene Health Canada
- Help select and develop a group of suppliers that want to contribute to the growth of Yourgene Health
- Negotiate supplier agreements on behalf of Yourgene Health to ensure quality compliance, minimise Bill of Material costs and improve supplier On-Time-In-Full delivery performance
- Thrive in a fast moving, uncertain and entrepreneurial environment that rewards data
- driven, clear and concise decision making
- Play a visible leadership role in growing the Operations function and cementing the importance of strong procurement governance while maintaining customer service
**Overall responsibility**:
Be a source of expert knowledge and the driving force behind the creation and development of procurement processes within Yourgene Health Canada.
Act as the primary point of contact in relation to supplier negotiations and contribute to the multi
- functional team charged with supplier selection during product development.
Develop a comprehensive suite of supplier measures of performance that capture cost efficiencies and improve delivery performance across the supplier base.
**Key areas of responsibility**:
- Improve supplier performance in terms of quality, cost, delivery, technology and service, in order to achieve business targets
- Lead supplier negotiations and drive successful completion of cost reduction projects in order to achieve the best total cost of ownership for the company.
- Provide budget recommendations and deliver price variance savings to improve business profitability
- Maintain critical supplier agreements ensuring that all critical components are kept up to date and that supplier contractual obligations are met.
- Reduce risk through implementation of contractual terms and conditions while identifying and approving second sources of supply where appropriate
- Adopt a cross functional and customer focused approach through regular liaison with Logistics, Product Operations, Service Labs, Research and Development and Commercial teams to ensure decisions are in line with customer requirements.

- **Qualifications, Skills and Abilities**:_
**Must Have**:
- Proven track record of international direct materials sourcing; ideally gained in a biotechnology or diagnostic manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing international commercial/procurement projects
- Strong project management and people skills with the ability to deliver results through teams.
- Excellent negotiation, communication and analytical skills
- Computer literate with competence in MS Excel data analysis functions and to create effective PowerPoint presentations
**Desirable**:
- Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation
- Experience of using Sage and/ or Oracle Netsuite software systems
