**Job Description**:
**Summary**:
Under mínimal supervision, places orders for required Valves with established vendors. Expedite/de-expedite the filling of orders by suppliers to meet company deadlines as needed. Maintain inventory levels in accordance with the unit forecast. May substitute items within pre-approved guidelines. Has authority to commit company to purchases within a maximum set dollar amount, as established by management. Prepares routine and special reports as required. May travel, including international on occasion. Handles special projects, as assigned.

**Job Duties/Responsibilities**
- Produce, review, and submit Net Requirement reports for approval
- Purchase materials based on established specification
- Expedite orders with suppliers (both stock & sold orders)
- Generate Cycle Count reports and enter inventory count information into ERP system
- Prepare containers in system after receiving shipping notification from suppliers
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure there is adequate stock
- Enter RMA’s as required
- Vendor negotiations as needed
- Prepare export documentation
- Enter supplier price lists into system as needed
- Work with team on various projects and purchasing initiatives
- Communicate with internal and external customer and suppliers in a professional manner
- Periodic travel, including international may be required
- May mentor and train junior staff
- Other duties as assigned.

**Job Requirements**: Skills/Knowledge**
- Prior experience in a Buyer or Purchaser role, preferably within a distribution facility
- Navision or other ERP system experience an asset
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Good organizational skills
- Basic analytical skills
- Able to make decisions “think on your feet”
- Ability to manage multiple items at once while achieving deadlines
- Willingness to learn
- Works well independently as well as, part of team
- Able to process, and present information
- Good negotiation skills
- Prior experience using/understanding a MRP preferred
- Intermediate knowledge of purchasing practices, principles, and procedures.

**Education**
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- SCMP designation considered preferred.

**Experience**
- 5+ years of applicable experience in a buying/purchasing role.
