**General Job Description**:
Restorative Justice Chatham-Kent is a not-for-profit, charitable organization with a mission to “provide alternative pathways for at-risk youth, restoring a positive connection with the community, thereby creating a safer, healthier Chatham-Kent.” As an agency, RJCK has a mandate to provide alternative measures such as Pre-Charge Diversion (Extrajudicial Measures - EJM), Post-Charge Diversion (Extrajudicial Sanctions - EJS), Restorative Justice Community Conferencing, and Intervention Programming to (12-17) in conflict with the law, as well as those youth (7-17) ‘at-risk’ for delinquency.

The Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and delivering the EJM and EJS Programs to referred youth, including provision of educational and intervention programming to those youth clients as it relates to the completion of their program involvement. As determined by the Executive Director and based on matters of caseload fluctuation, the Program Coordinator will be called upon to deliver _Positive Strides_ Intervention & Educational Programming with those at-risk youth referred by families, schools, community partners, etcetera. This person will also be formally trained in Restorative Justice Conference Facilitation (RCMP Model) as available, and be passionate about youth, victim and community advocacy.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Coordinating Restorative Justice Processes_
- Determine suitability of all referrals for restorative justice conferencing and prepares required documentation in consultation with referral agency
- Phone contact with victims, youth clients, support people, community, schools, police officers, RJCK volunteers, etcetera to explain the process, and schedule restorative justice pre-conferences, conferences, and programming where applicable
- Schedule and facilitate restorative justice conferences/processes, ensuring that details of each conference agreement are drawn up and signed to the satisfaction of all parties involved
- Work collaboratively with, and brief/de-brief RJCK volunteers involved with conferencing
- Work collaboratively and communicate regularly with partners and other referring agencies
- Maintain clear and complete records in each case file
- Monitor the completion of contracts/conference agreements; support the youth, their families, and community stakeholders involved in the contract agreement as it relates to timely completion of these contracts/agreements
- Reviews and updates Conference Procedures as necessary and presents suggested updates/changes to the Executive Director
- Investigates and resolves complaints, problems and issues of non-compliance with regard to the Conference Agreement and reports any and all complaints to the Executive Director
- Draft and submit ‘Final Report’ and related documentation to respective referring parties upon completion of an EJM or EJS file; follow strict protocol for submission of these packages
- Maintain Agency (RJCK) and Ministry reporting & evaluation databases as requested
- Program Support_
- Navigate the Extrajudicial Measures (EJM) or Extrajudicial Sanctions (EJS) referral processes; schedule and conduct intake assessments with new youth clients and parents/guardians
- Facilitate individualized, one-on-one _Positive Strides Intervention_ _&_ _Educational Programming_ sessions, as it relates to course of a young person’s EJM or EJS program completion
- Assist with re-model and upgrade of educational/intervention programming materials and resources, as needed, upon request of the Executive Director
- Research new and exciting ways to engage youth in programming provided by Restorative Justice Chatham-Kent; execute these methods (after clearance from the Executive Director)
- Collaborate on an as-needed basis with agency referral sources (police, school board, court, probation) and with those agencies in the community who offer further supports for our clients
- Prepare reports on various program outcomes; administer Program Evaluation tools with stakeholders
- Assist with Restorative Justice Chatham-Kent’s “After Care Program” - conducting follow-up phone calls and interviews with past youth justice clients
- Carry out file closure processes, and assist with routine destruction of client files, as needed
- Conduct training with/for community partners where applicable
- Interface with a variety of criminal justice representatives
- Assist in making public presentations (public awareness and education campaigns)
- Attend community meetings (i.e. school presentations, community service groups) as requested
- Attend any relevant training workshops, conferences, or presentations - _travel to Windsor, London, Kitchener, Hamilton or greater Toronto area may be required for training opportunities_
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Assisting with ‘Positive Strides’ Youth Clients _
- When caseload levels fluctuate between the Program Coordinator and the Caseworker, and
