**Job Title: Purchaser**
**Location**: 1401 17 Ave SE, Calgary, AB, T2G 1J9
**Job Summary**:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchaser to join our team. The Purchaser will be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring that goods and services are purchased in a timely, cost-effective manner, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Consistent communication with fabrication department for obtain materials for projects
- Research and identify potential suppliers of goods and services.
- Negotiate prices, terms, and delivery conditions with suppliers to achieve the best value for the company.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders based on inventory levels, production needs, and company requirements.
- Monitor the status of orders, ensuring timely delivery and resolution of any issues related to delays or discrepancies.
- Maintain records of purchasing activities, contracts, and supplier communications.
- Collaborate with internal departments, such as production, finance, and logistics, to ensure the smooth flow of goods and services.
- Maintain supplier relationships and evaluate their performance to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Assist with budget management and cost analysis for purchasing activities.
- Stay informed of market trends, supply chain disruptions, and industry best practices.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulations, and sustainability practices in the purchasing process.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management (2 years minimum)
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain supplier relationships.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
**Preferred Skills**:
- Familiarity with inventory management and forecasting.
- Certification in purchasing or procurement (e.g., CIPS) is a plus.
- Experience in working with international suppliers is a plus.
- Experience in Steel industry and fabrication is a big asset
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $50,000.00 per year
