The Night Auditor plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the hotel during the overnight hours, and their responsibilities are critical to the hotel's daily financial operations and guest satisfaction. Duties involve a combination of financial, administrative, and customer service tasks. The role requires an individual who is detail-oriented, with strong organizational and communication skills, and who is able to handle unexpected situations calmly and efficiently.

**Some of the job duties include but are not limited to**:

- Balancing Accounts: Reconciles all the financial transactions that occurred during the day, including room charges, payments, and other expenses.
- Posting Charges: Posts and reviews ancillary charges to guest accounts.
- Processing Payments: Handles guest checkouts and process payments, which may involve cash, credit cards, or other payment methods.
- Preparing Daily Reports: Generates and distributes daily financial reports, which include information on occupancy rates, revenue, and other financial metrics.
- Check-Ins and Checkouts: Assists guests with check-in and checkout procedures, especially during the late-night and early-morning hours.
- Handling Guest Inquiries: Responds to guest inquiries and resolves issues or concerns that may arise during the night.
- Making Reservations: Takes reservations for future stays and collects payment.
- Security Checks: Performs security rounds to ensure the safety and security of the hotel's guests and property.
- Responding to Emergencies: Responsible for responding to emergencies, such as fire alarms or medical incidents, and contacting the appropriate authorities when necessary.
- Data Entry: Updates guest information and financial records in the PMS and system.
- Filing: Organizes and files paperwork related to guest stays and financial transactions.
- Preparing for the Next Day: Sets up the front desk and common areas for the next day's operations.
- Communicating with Housekeeping: Communicates with the housekeeping staff regarding room availability and any special guest requests.
- Maintaining Records: Maintains records of guest transactions, accounting reports, and any incidents that occurred during the night shift.
- Assisting Guests: Provides assistance to guests who may have questions or require help during the night, ensuring a positive guest experience.
- Operational Systems: Operates various computer systems and software to manage reservations, check-ins, and financial transactions.

**Compulsory Skills**:

- **Mathematical**: Strong math skills to handle financial transactions, balance accounts, and generate reports.
- **Computer**: Proficiency in using hotel management software, accounting software, and other relevant computer programs is essential.
- **Attention to Detail**: Precision and accuracy are crucial when reconciling financial records and managing guest accounts.
- **Customer Service**: Good interpersonal and customer service skills are necessary for handling guest inquiries and resolving issues.
- **Communication**: Effective communication, both written and verbal, is important for interacting with guests and colleagues.
- **Problem-Solving**: The ability to handle unexpected situations and find solutions to guest issues is important.
- **Organization**: Often juggle multiple tasks and responsibilities, so being well-organized is key.
- **Time Management**: Should be able to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively, especially during busy periods.
- **Discretion and Integrity**: Handling financial transactions and guest information requires a high level of trustworthiness and discretion.

**Education**:
A high school diploma or GED as a minimum. A degree or coursework in hospitality management, business, or a related field is preferred.

**Experience**:
Must have a minimum of 1+ years of experience as a Guest Services Agent and Night Auditor. Accounting or financial background is desirable.

If you choose to reside in shared accommodation, it comes fully furnished with linens, cookware, free internet, and cable for only $28/day. Maximum occupancy per bedroom is two colleagues. Common areas and spaces are shared. Fully equipped kitchen and laundry is available. There are no single units, single bedrooms or pets permitted as all units are shared. Occupancy in the house is limited to ensure a comfortable living environment.

**Salary**: From $23.10 per hour
