Overview: As a Design Manager at Kych & Co., you will play a key role in overseeing the design process, managing a team of talented designers, and ensuring the successful integration of design concepts into the overall construction and project delivery. This position requires a creative mindset, strong leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.

**Responsibilities**:

- **Project Planning and Coordination**:

- Collaborate with project teams to understand project requirements and objectives.
- Develop design strategies that align with project goals and client expectations.
- Coordinate design activities to ensure they integrate seamlessly with the construction process.
- **Team Leadership and Management**:

- Lead and manage a team of designers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.
- Foster a collaborative and creative work environment to encourage innovation and high-quality design solutions.
- Allocate resources effectively to meet project timelines and deliverables.
- **Design Process Development**:

- Oversee the creation of design processes and coordinate with developers
- Ensure that designs process comply with company standards
- Review and approve design documentation at various stages of the project.
- **Client Interaction**:

- Collaborate with clients to understand their vision, preferences, and project requirements.
- Present design concepts and updates to clients, addressing feedback and making adjustments as needed.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and responsiveness.
- **Budget and Resource Management**:

- Work closely with the project management team to develop and manage design budgets.
- Monitor project expenses and resource allocation to ensure efficient use of resources.
- **Quality Control**:

- Implement and enforce quality control processes to ensure the highest standards in design and documentation.
- Conduct regular design reviews to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with company standards.
- **Risk Management**:

- Identify and address potential design-related risks and challenges.
- Develop contingency plans and solutions to mitigate risks during the design and construction phases.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Design, or a related field.
- Experience Working in the design and construction field abroad
- Proven experience in a design management role within a design build firm.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Proficiency in design software and tools. REVIT & SKETCHUP is non negotiable
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English. Mandarin/ Cantonese fluency is optional but a bonus.
- Knowledge of construction processes and building codes.
- Ability to balance creativity with practicality and feasibility.

**Salary**: From $4,000.00 per month

Supplemental pay types:

- Bonus pay

- design management: 2 years (required)
- Revit & Sketchup: 4 years (required)

Ability to Commute:

- Markham, ON L3R 9W7 (required)

Ability to Relocate:

- Markham, ON L3R 9W7: Relocate before starting work (required)
