**Cleanfarms Financial Analyst, Etobicoke (ON) Permanent Full-Time (Hybrid or Remote)**
Cleanfarms is a young and growing Canadian not-for-profit organization that creates and provides waste management programs to help promote sustainability in Canadian agriculture.
We’ve been termed the blue box for ag with six core programs and several pilots and a record of recycling over 140 million small ag jugs and much more.
We’re a small team of change-makers, working with 190,000 farms, supporting ~1500 ag recycling collection sites across 10 provinces.
Our compensation package offers a competitive salary and pay-for-performance incentives. The salary range for this position is $55,000 to $65,000 based on experience and qualifications. In addition, our benefit package includes participation in RSP program, 100% employer paid health & dental plan, long term & short-term disability coverage, professional development opportunities, and tuition reimbursement.
**Primary Function**:
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Financial Analyst is responsible for account reconciliations, variance analysis, accounts receivable, assist in accounts payable and other analytical reports.
Working in a small, nimble team, the Financial Analyst will be integral to the development and management of the financial reporting of Cleanfarms Inc. A passion to fully understand the business and the drive to proactively assess and strategize will be necessary for the fulfilment of this position. The incumbent will provide consultation and support to senior leadership in the interpretation of financial and performance reports to assist in effective operation management decisions.
**Major Responsibilities**:
- Prepare and analyze monthly/quarterly/annual account reconciliations
- Prepare general ledger accounts analysis and analyze budget variances
- Assist in preparing year-end audit working papers and notes
- Complete billings in a timely and accurate manner to meet the respective monthly timelines
- Monitor AR aging and communicate with customers for payments
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and the monthly reports
- Be responsible for the integrity of the financial reporting; cash flow forecasting and management; optimizing the company's working capital
- Assist in the implementation of internal controls, policies, and procedures
- Ensure adherence to budget/financial policies and procedures
- Review and implement complex pricing/costing recommendations for new programs, analyzing the risks/benefits of options
- Contribute to the operational and administrative efficiency of the area’s assigned
- Liaise with external stakeholders, parties, and cross-functional teams, etc. to obtain, exchange, or respond to requests for information, or provide explanation of financial and/or statistical data
- Perform other related duties as assigned
**Skills And Qualifications**:
- Post-secondary degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, Economics, Accounting or related field
- Actively working toward an accounting designation (CPA)
- Minimum of three to five years of relevant experience in a finance or budgeting environment with emphasis on financial and strategic planning, reporting, analysis and forecasting
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, Harmonized Sales Tax
Legislation and International Financial Reporting Standards
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Excellent proficiency in Excel including spreadsheet modelling skills and the ability to enhance processes through creative use of macros, etc.
- Full cycle accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting concepts, techniques, and principles
- Working knowledge of QuickBooks, experience migrating financial system is a plus
- Ability to speak French is an asset
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
