Kitchener, Canada FuelPositive Full time

We are growing our team, and we are looking for an experienced Controls Specialist who will play a key role in supporting the engineering and manufacturing teams as we move from design to implementation of our onsite, containerized green ammonia production technology. This position will report to the COO while collaborating with and working alongside our Electrical Engineering Team. As we are a growing organization, the reporting structure may shift in the near future.

**Who we are**:
FuelPositive is a Canadian-based, clean technology company, working to fight climate change by creating and developing practical, clean, and sustainable carbon-free solutions that can be implemented economically now. Above all, we believe in being kind - to the earth, to each other, and to ourselves. We believe that being kind will pay dividends for us all. It’s all about Fuel for a Mindful World.

**What we make**:
Our lead product, an onsite, containerized Green Ammonia production system that is modular and scalable, will revolutionize clean energy through a patent-pending, first-of-its-kind technology invented in Canada. The system takes air, water and a sustainable electricity source to produce green anhydrous ammonia with no carbon emissions. Adoption will dramatically support global targets to reduce CO2 emissions. And our decentralized, in situ approach will bring supply chain independence to our first customers - farmers - for the first time.

If you want to make a Positive impact, be relevant and make a change, join our team and become a part of the solution

**What YOU will do**:
In this position you will work closely with the team on our current technologies pertaining to the generation of hydrogen, nitrogen, and ammonia. Your objective is to build, service, maintain, repair, install and test new or existing common controls systems that include PLC, HMI, servo system and robotic programming. You are familiar with Fanuc, ABB robotics as well as Siemens and Allen Bradley PLCs and associated networks. You are a wizard at interpreting electrical engineering drawings and understanding PLC logic circuits and devices. Such devices may include analog and digital sensors (pressure, temperature & flow), servo and solenoid devices such as valves, and pneumatic/hydraulic system components. You have a thorough background in troubleshooting logic and script coding. You will ensure the delivery on all projects is to the appropriate levels of engineering quality, on time and within budget. In addition, you will be supporting documentation, preparing equipment specifications, data sheets, and developing process design criteria as a basis of the process design. Safety is a priority for everything we do, so you will participate in process safety engineering in every step of the process. You will perform related mechanical/electrical duties as required as there will be lots to do, so this summary is only an idea of what the role holds for you. Does this sound exciting? Keep reading below.

**Who YOU are**:
You’ve seen our values, and they resonate with you. You are passionate about participating in creating solutions to climate change and have an understanding of the role our systems play in making a positive impact on the world’s fertilizer demands and food shortage issues. You are eager to roll-up your sleeves to troubleshoot equipment and check wiring.

You are an Engineering graduate in Electrical, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Computer Engineering, Systems Design and have 5+ years of relevant work experience in design, procurement, programming PLCs (SLC500, ControlLogix, Siemens, Omron) and HMIs (Panelview). You have proficiency with creating electrical drawings using AutoCAD/Electrical and reading mechanical drawings. Additionally, you possess the ability to communicate clearly, whether it is with your colleagues, suppliers, clients or other stakeholders - talking to people and getting your message across in a positive and collaborative way is a strength of yours. You are also able to provide reports on findings in a concise and thoughtful manner for a variety of audiences. You possess excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop within a team to achieve results. While this position is focused within the Waterloo Region in Ontario, travel may be required, so you should be able to travel across Canada and to international locations as needed to support existing installations and future projects.

**Why you will love us**:
We are a team in the truest sense of the word. As a group, we are looking to make a positive impact in our world, and are excited to have others join us. Each person we invite to join the team shares our values and will be able to provide specific skills to guide us in achieving our mission.
