If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our dynamic team as a Field Officer - Level 3 serving our vibrant communities. The Field Officer - Level 3 supports IFNA communities by improving their emergency operations capacity to respond to emergencies. This role involves providing training, assisting with emergency plan development, coordinating exercises, and serving as surge capacity to support local communities within the Nishnawbe Aski Nation (NAN) and Treaty 3 regions.

**Responsibilities**:
**Emergency Management**
- Maintain proficiency in basic rural firefighting, first response, and emergency/incident management.
- Serve as an instructor and deliver training in these areas.
- Maintain active involvement with the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and develop/maintain any competencies required for EOC tasks (e.g., Drone Operations).

**On-Call Readiness**
- Cover assigned on-call schedules, prepared to deploy within 4-12 hours of notification.
- Set up and maintain a command post upon arrival at an incident.

**Community Partnerships**
- Maintain an ongoing, client-focused relationship with relevant community departments and workers.
- Ensure timely provision of approved emergency operations services.
- Maintain knowledge of other local, regional, or provincial/federal emergency service/management providers and agencies.
- Represent IFNA communities on regional, provincial, and federal committees related to emergency management goals and objectives when requested.
- Provide updates at IFNA board meetings and other committees as needed.

**Administrative Duties**

**Professional Expectations**
- Engage in ongoing professional development by attending training, workshops, and other events.
- Participate in cross-training as part of Integrated Emergency Services and perform other duties as assigned.

**Leadership**
- Act as a team leader or be assigned an IMS leadership function with budget approval authority to support emergency deployments or temporary gaps within the IES management team.

**Position Requirements**:

- Post-secondary education in the emergency services field is required; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
- IMC/ICS 300 or above certification.
- 5 years of experience in emergency management, including areas of Prevention, Mitigation, Preparedness, Response, and Recovery, with at least 3 years at a supervisory level.
- Valid G driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
- Clear Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Screening, and Child Abuse Registry check.
- Knowledge of Indigenous Fire and Emergency Services and a good understanding of provincial services and Indigenous Services Canada is an asset.
- Strong intrapersonal, interpersonal, team, and professional skills, including communication and trust-building abilities.
- Familiarity with Indigenous communities and organizations; experience working for an Indigenous organization.
- Understanding of Indigenous history, traditions, and beliefs with the ability to integrate cultural values and practices in service delivery; ability to speak Ojibwe or Oji-Cree is an asset.
- Note: Flexibility is key at IFNA. You may occasionally cover tasks outside your role, ensuring comprehensive support for our organization's mission._

**Salary Range**: $20-$30 per hour - based on combination and experience and education.

**Schedule**: Regular hours from Monday to Friday with weekends, overtime, and on-call availability.

**Deadline**: Position will be open until filled.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Casual

Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 35 per week
