**Key Responsibilities**
- Schedule and route trucks, work closely with drivers and customers to achieve / maintain the highest level of service levels.
- Maintain Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
- Maintain drivers dispatch records (paper and electronic) in a timely and accurate manner.
- Maintain a professional and courteous relationship with both internal and external customers.
- Verify and ensure drivers know their schedules and adhere to them, while within all DOT regulations.
- Assist in ensuring that the company adheres to all FMCSA regulations - HOS, Logs, Mileage, Fuel, Repairs & Maintenance
- Schedule time off work/vacations for drivers with recommendation for management approval
- Assist in communicating company safety objectives.
- All additional administrative activities to ensure that the company runs in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
- After hours & weekends, as required to meet operational needs
- Understand driver Hours of Service for planning purposes, to ensure safe and legal load assignments to drivers.
- Able to plan freight on multiple drivers to ensure safe and efficient movement of customer loads.
- Able to plan multiple loads on drivers each day to increase freight volumes on each truck.
- Communication with the team when necessary to ensure efficient and positive relations and activities Level of systems knowledge to identify and solve problems

- Understanding of FMCSA rules and regulations
- Understanding of interrelationships of all transportation systems
- Understanding of how own work impacts the Company's costs and the bottom line
- Knowledge of GPS systems and geography
- High School degree or GED
- 1+ year of transportation dispatch
- High computer skills
- Experience working with (insert programs/ systems here) an asset
- High level of time management
- Flexibility with schedule is a must.
