We are seeking a compassionate and understanding Recovery Coach to join our team to offer strategic guidance and solutions for those seeking recovery.

Reporting to the Recovery Coach Team Lead, the Recovery Coach is an essential member of our navigation center team. This role provides direct support to individuals facing substance use challenges, homelessness, or other complex life situations. Building trusting relationships, the Recovery Coach empowers clients to set goals, develop action plans, and connect them to vital resources within the community. A background in peer support or lived experience is strongly valued.

**Role Specific Accountabilities**
- **Client Advocacy**: Partner with clients on an individual basis, understanding their personal goals and respecting their right to self-determination. Advocate on their behalf with service providers and navigate complex systems.
- **Personalized Support**: Develop and implement tailored recovery plans, helping clients identify strengths, address barriers, and achieve a higher quality of life. This may include navigating housing resources, accessing treatment programs, or connecting to support groups.
- **Motivational Support**: Employ motivational interviewing and other client-centred techniques to foster hope, encouragement, and resilience throughout the recovery process. Address potential setbacks with understanding and provide ongoing support.
- **Resource Connection**: Maintain a strong working knowledge of community resources, healthcare providers, treatment options, and available social supports. Actively link clients to those resources based on individual needs and circumstances.
- **Documentation and Reporting**: Maintain accurate client records, document service delivery, and contribute to program reporting with an emphasis on privacy and confidentiality.

**Qualifications**
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A Recovery Coach or Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist (or equivalent training) is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in peer support, social service delivery, or related fields. Lived experience with recovery is a significant asset.
- Deep understanding of substance use disorders, homelessness, and the challenges faced by marginalized communities.
- Knowledge of available community resources and the ability to navigate service systems
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be comfortable to communicate via the telephone.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including active listening and empathy.
- Minimum of two years of continuous sobriety.
- Ability to pass random urine drug screens and alcohol tests.
- Ability to take a trauma-informed approach.
- Proven crisis intervention skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Proficiency in a second language is an asset.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
