**VIVO Home Health**is currently seeking a part-time or full-time **Rehabilitation Support Worker (RSW)**for the **Ottawa** area. The RSW will implement treatment goals recommended by regulated health professionals. The RSW will be responsible for providing rehabilitation support to individuals with an acquired brain injury and/or spinal cord injury, as well as, individuals who may have also been diagnosed with mental health disorders, developmental disabilities, dual diagnosis, orthopaedic injuries.

**Requirements**:

- Educational background in a rehabilitation support program
- Working knowledge of common medical, mental health and neurological conditions
- An in-depth understanding of the effects of head injury on physical, psychological and social function
- Knowledge of the principles of Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech Language Pathology, and other rehabilitation modalities applied to brain injury
- An understanding of the types of interventions used in community-based rehabilitation therapy for those with head injuries
- An understanding of the roles of other health and social care professions
- Ability to break down activities into achievable goals
- Ability to recognize problems experienced by clients
- Experience working within a team and an understanding of team dynamics
- Ability to observe clients' performance and report clearly to relevant professions
- Experience working with clients, and their families, who have behavioural difficulties or are emotionally vulnerable, and enabling them to adjust to their difficulties with supports
- Develop and implement rehabilitation support plans in collaboration with an Occupational Therapist, and/or a Physiotherapist
- Report on medication intake and supply, client functioning related to personal care, housekeeping and other care giving duties, as well as, behavioural and cognitive limitations
- Provide services in the home, community, social and work settings
- Attend to client appointments and team meetings, as well as, allocate time for treatment preparation, travel, reporting, and administrative duties
- Establish harmonious working relationships with clients, client families and friends, colleagues, and others in the community.
- Ability to use appropriate initiative, recognizing own limitations of competency
- Ability to organize own workload, prioritize demands of a number of therapists, and work flexibly with others to ensure all demands are met
- Able to participate in supervision and make positive use of it, as well as, accept direction when necessary
- Able to work in a stressful environment, including, with clients who have complex communication needs or challenging behaviours
- Flexible schedule and willing to work occasional evenings and weekends

**Licenses and Certifications**:

- Bachelor's Degree is preferred
- Valid Driver's License (G class is preferred) and vehicle
- First Aid/CPR in good standing

**Work Experience**:

- Working with clients with MVA injuries for 2 years or more is required
- Working with clients with brain injuries for 2 years or more is preferred
- Working with clients with mental health issues for 2 years or more is preferred

**Other**:

- Police check will be required
- Vulnerable sector check will be required
- Must have valid liability insurance

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $30.00-$32.00 per hour
