**Description**

Our team is looking for a Data Strategist experienced in agile project delivery and complex Information Technology (IT) systems. The ideal job seeker will provide innovative solutions to complex challenges and will be responsible for developing a data strategy.

Work must be done from within Canada, due to network and data security issues during regular business hours. Must be Canadian Citizen to apply.

**Experience Required/Mandatory Skills**
- Experience with implementing enterprise data strategy and/or data governance. Resume must show description of projects involving the development and/ or implementation of data strategies and/or or implementation of data governance/ data management. for a program of the size and complexity of the programs scope of work. (5+ years)
- Experience in the development and implementation of data platforms, governance standards, processes, and mechanisms to enable organizations to manage information through its entire lifecycle. (5+ years)
- Experience leading and providing consultation and support to clients at all levels of an organization. (5+ years)
- Experience preparing and implementing government-wide strategies and/or mandates on data transformation initiatives. (5+ years)
- Extensive experience in the Data Governance discipline. (3+ years)

**Nice To Have Skills**
- Experience conducting, facilitating and interpreting impact and risk assessments across multiple scenarios. (5+ years)
- Experience with projects that involved data science, data engineering and / or AI. (5+ years)
- Experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis of costs and benefits. (5+ years)
- Experience in the analysis, development, and integration of complex IT systems with a specific focus on the management of multiple data sources, web services, and legacy IT solutions. (5+ years)
- Experience with data management tools (e.g. data governance tools, BI, analytics, big data, data visualization, etc.) (5+ years)
- Experience with Information Governance, or records management and information management. (2+ years)
- Experience working on agile software development and modern, service design based product delivery comparable in size and complexity for a large organization such as state, provincial, or federal government or a private company with 5,000 or more employees or for a startup or small business addressing a complex challenge at scale. (5+ years)

**Location**
- Edmonton/Hybrid

**Work Environment**
- 6 months with 1 possible 12-month extension

**Hourly Rate**
- Negotiable
