Reporting to the Communication and Public Engagement Lead, the Community Benefits Specialist will manage the Community Benefits & Liaison Plan, and support the Apprenticeship Plan and Program for the Finch West LRT project. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with partners at the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities, Toronto Community Benefits Network, United Way, along with others in the workforce training and social enterprise sectors to identify and coordinate opportunities to inform and engage local residents about employment, training and apprenticeship opportunities on the Finch West LRT project. Build awareness, understanding and support of the Finch West LRT Community Benefits and Liaison Plan and the Apprenticeship Plan and Program, internally and externally. Collaborate with Human Resources, Purchasing, Construction and sub-contractors' teams to identify and provide members of disadvantaged groups access to apprenticeship training, and administrative, trades, and professional jobs, as well as purchasing opportunities on the project. Collaborate with workforce agencies to plan and organize information and employment training programs for disadvantaged groups. In partnership with social enterprise organizations and small business owners, provide advance notification of business opportunities (i.e. catering service, printing, window washing) on the project. Monitor, track, and prepare quarterly reports on the Community Benefits and Liaison Plan and annual reports on the Apprenticeship Plan and Program. Partner with internal and external stakeholders to organize community events to contribute to community improvements initiatives. Liaise with subcontractors to monitor, track and report on apprenticeship commitments. Work with Toronto Community Benefits Network and other partners, community groups and stakeholders to identify initiatives, communicate progress toward goals and address any concerns/complaints.
