Foothills School Division is currently seeking a Youth Development Coach (YDC) to join our multidisciplinary school-based team in a specialized setting. The YDC plays a key role in promoting positive student behavior, social-emotional learning (SEL), and self-regulation in both individual and group settings. This position focuses on supporting students with mental health needs by building strong relationships, delivering SEL programming, and helping foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Serve as an active member of the multidisciplinary team
- Participate regularly in collaborative team meetings
- Work closely with team members to develop and deliver SEL programming
- Take initiative in supporting students to set and achieve personal, academic, and social goals
- Collaborate on the development and implementation of individualized student plans
- Provide support to students and families facing challenges with school attendance
- Monitor student behavior during class and unstructured times, helping students make appropriate choices
- Support student self-regulation through co-regulation strategies
- Promote student independence and self-advocacy
- Foster a calm, respectful, and inclusive learning environment
- Maintain professional boundaries while building trusting relationships with students

**Qualifications**:

- Diploma in Child & Youth Care, or an equivalent combination of related post-secondary training and experience working with at-risk youth
- Strong understanding of social-emotional development and behavioral support strategies
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, families, and community partners
- Experience supporting students with diverse learning, social, and emotional needs
- Ability to model positive behavior, respond to challenges constructively, and engage youth in meaningful growth
- Experience in working with youth with a variety of diagnosed mental health disorders is an asset

Following the school calendar, hours of work are 32.5 hours per week (1.0 FTE) Monday to Friday.
