**We'd Love to Meet You If You Have**:

- A current **ECE or ECEA Certification, valid BC Teaching Degree, or Responsible Adult Certificate**(with management experience in public health, childcare, or community care.)
- Experience bringing joy, patience, and creativity to early learning
- Knowledge of the **BC Early Learning Framework** and **BC Child Care Licensing Regulations**:

- **A personal and professional background in management and**:

- A valid **First Aid Certificate** with CPR-B

- Must be at least 19 years of age
- Experience working with children ages 0 - 12
- Minimum 20 hours of training in Child Development, Child Guidance and/or Nutrition

**The Nitty Gritty**:

- Pay: Starting at $27.00 per hour
- $6/hour additional Early Childhood Educator Wage Enhancement (ECEWE) for ECEs
- Schedule: Monday to Friday weekly, excluding stat holidays.
- Paid Professional Development and Re-Certification
- 4% annual Vacation Pay

We are looking for an enthusiastic person who is passionate about providing quality education and care to young children. You will lead our team and ensure that engaging lesson plans are created and led, foster a positive learning environment, and build strong relationships with children, parents, staff and community.

Reporting to the Manager of the Children’s Centre, this role requires high levels of sensitivity, diplomacy, and confidentiality.

The **Child Care** **Team Leader**, with mínimal supervision from the Center Manager, provides guidance to the personnel and day to day oversight of our learning spaces including communicating with, and building strong relationships with parents and families. The position is also responsible for the care, education, and well-being of children aged 0-12. The Team Leader works collaboratively with other educators, volunteers, community allies and the Denman Island Pre-School Society Board of Directors, to create a nurturing, inclusive and rich early learning environment for children.

Our location on Denman Island in the Comox Valley, BC. requires that applicants have secure housing on Denman Island or have reliable transportation to and from the Buckley Bay ferry terminal as the BC Transit system does not have a schedule that aligns with the required ferries.
