**About Blackberry Lane**:
We run four fun-filled, year-round programs:

- **2, Multi-Age Programs** (each licensed for 8 kiddos, Monday - Friday)
- **Denman Kids Club** after-school & summer daycare (for school-age children)
- **Sea Stars Academy** for our Denman home-learners (Thursdays 8:30 - 12:30)

We believe in _small groups, big adventures,_ and _strong relationships_ — and we operate with enhanced staffing ratios to make sure everyone (kids and staff) gets the support they deserve.

Applicant must have already secured housing in the Comox Valley, or on Denman or Hornby Island and have reliable transportation to and from Denman Island.

**We'd Love to Meet You If You Have**:

- A current **ECE or ECEA Certification, or BC Teaching Degree**:

- Experience bringing joy, patience, and creativity to early learning
- Knowledge of the **BC Early Learning Framework** and **BC Child Care Licensing Regulations**:

- A valid **First Aid Certificate** with CPR-B
- A teamwork mindset and a heart full of kindness

**The Nitty Gritty**:

- One Full-Time position is part of the **Canada Summer Jobs Program** and applicant must be between the ages of 19 and 30.
- Pay: Starting at $25.00 per hour
- $6/hour additional Early Childhood Educator Wage Enhancement (ECEWE)
- Schedule: Monday to Friday weekly, excluding stat holidays.
- Paid Professional Development and Re-Certification
- 4% annual Vacation Pay

We are looking for an enthusiastic person who is passionate about providing quality education and care to young children. You will create and lead engaging lesson plans, foster a positive learning environment, and build strong relationships with children, parents, staff and community.

Our location on Denman Island in the Comox Valley, BC. requires that applicants have secure housing on the island or have reliable transportation to and from the Buckley Bay ferry terminal as the BC Transit system does not have a schedule that aligns with the required ferries. Ferry fare and monthly secure parking fee remuneration will be considered for off-Island applicants.
