The Specialist will be a member of the Provincial Equity Office team and will be responsible for leading and supporting efforts to successfully advance Ontario Health’s (OH) EIDA-R framework. This team member will frequently collaborate with members of other teams, working to consult and advise them on creating more equitable policies, programs, and processes to actualize the organization’s mission to create an equitable, accessible health system. The Specialist works with a small team and reports directly to the Manager.
Here is what you will be doing:
- Collaborates with a range of teams, fostering strong working relationships, grounded in respect and inclusivity, with individuals of a broad diversity of lived experiences- Navigates multiple portfolios, responding to emerging needs and challenges that sometimes have conflicting deadlines- Develops work plans, identifying the necessary resources and/or support required to meet objectives, and taking initiative to seek out those resources and supports- Works with the Manager to track work across portfolios and develop analysis on progress, including identifying opportunities and risks- Organizes and/or participates in committees as required- Engages teams across OH to bring an equity lens to the organization’s work and identify opportunities for enabling OH’s EIDA-R framework- Develops materials for meetings, trainings, and other relevant engagements, including briefs and presentations- Works closely with the team, including supporting the team’s Manager and Director- Ensures alignment of activities across portfolios, with a strong attention to detail- Leads presentations, trainings, and other engagements relevant to the EIDA-R team’s workHere is what you will need to be successful:
Education and Experience- Bachelor’s degree in health administration, population health, public health, sociology or a related field, or an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience- At least two to three years of experience working in the Ontario health care system or in a relevant role-
- Experience and/or knowledge in developing and executing program and project evaluation is an asset
Knowledge and Skills- Effective communication skills, including written, for items such as presentations, meeting minutes, and briefing notes- Strong collaboration and relationship building skills- Negotiation and problem-solving skills, including working to build consensus- Ability to effectively synthesize information into key take aways- Exceptional time management and organizational skills- A self-starter who also escalates matters to the Manager, when necessary- Fluency in Microsoft Office
