**Duties**:

- Provide leadership and guidance to the ESL team, including the clerical assistant and language instructors, ensuring that program standards and procedures are met.
- Coordinate all project activities for delivery, including assessments, referrals, language instruction, information sessions, guest speakers, and follow-up support.
- Liaise with the CLARS assessment centres for client intake assessment and placement.
- Manage course waitlist on CLARS and register clients into the program.
- Support new clients’ access to virtual meeting tools such as Microsoft Teams.
- Create, organize, and maintain operational files on SharePoint.
- Ensure language instructors’ lesson plans and modules are prepared.
- Oversee the design and delivery of English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, ensuring alignment with PBLA (Portfolio-Based Language Assessment) guidelines.
- Support instructors in providing synchronous and asynchronous online instruction using virtual conferencing tools, language learning software, and Microsoft programs.
- Supervise the development of level-appropriate, PBLA-based module plans and daily lesson plans in accordance with the Revised Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) 2012.
- Provide mentorship and support to instructors to maintain high-quality teaching practices, including PBLA implementation and effective online instruction.
- Determine client eligibility for transit tickets, maintain accurate records, and manage their distribution.
- Identify, and where applicable, resolve programming concerns and issues.
- Coordinate client feedback surveys and assist the manager in the evaluation of the program services.
- Tabulate, compile, verify, and formulate statistical and narrative reports.
- Collect and input client data into HARTs and CIS.
- Organize guest speakers and special events to enhance learners’ participation and cultural experience.
- Market program information to participants, newcomer serving organizations, and the community in general.
- Liaise with community partners to provide information sessions, resources, or other support if needed.

**Qualifications**:

- Community college diploma or equivalent.
- TESL Ontario certification is an asset.
- PBLA trained or in-training an asset
- Must have at least 1 year of experience coordinating a newcomer language or skills training program.
- Experience in teaching ESL.
- Experience in facilitating online and in-person information sessions and workshops.
- Experience using virtual meeting tools such as Microsoft Teams and hybrid teaching technology like the OWL camera.
- Experience in facilitating online training using Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Moodle.
- Experience using OneDrive and SharePoint.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exceptional multitasking skills.
- Sensitivity to and awareness of settlement issues facing immigrants.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, and good command of written and oral English.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and administrative skills.
- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
- Access to a vehicle is required for weekly travel between COSTI locations.
