Assistant Brand Manager

We are looking for an Assistant Brand Manager who will join our Brand Marketing team. This hybrid position will be based both remotely at home and at The Scotts Canada Head Office in Mississauga Ontario. The Assistant Brand Manager is responsible for supporting the Brand Manager in developing and executing both short - and long-term strategic plans that meet top line sales, margin, and profit objectives for the assigned portfolio of brands. An Assistant Brand Manager, as part of the brand team is accountable for localized Canadian specific advertising, new product development, research, forecasting, packaging, point of sale, collateral materials and other any other areas that directly influences brand success. In this role you will: - Assist in developing operating plans and execute strategies needed to meet top-line sales, margin and contribution to profit objectives- Work with internal and external creative, regulatory and technical resources to help drive the development and execution of new products, packaging, advertising, promotional materials point of sale and sales collateral materials that support key marketing initiatives- Liaise with the sales team, shopper marketing manager, digital marketing team and brand marketing team to assist in delivering both customer and consumer facing trade and social media programs- Complete key business analyses including product and category sales/profitability, marketplace/share, competitive assessment, volume builds, promotion evaluation, SKU rationalization, pricing/sizing analysis and market research analysis and implications- Working with the finance team, establish and maintain marketing budget reconciliation and- spend tracking monthly- Build strong collaborative relationships with cross-functional business teams including the Management Leadership team, sales, R&D, regulatory, operations, finance, legal, and creative agencies & partners; Help to inspire the teams to deliver results, be bold & agile, take risks, and make collective decisions that are right for the consumer, customer, and company- Establish and maintain regular and frequent dialogue with US marketing colleagues to ensure brand and project collaboration is fully leveraged The ideal team member will have: - Post-secondary Degree in Business or Marketing- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience an Assistant Brand Manager / Project Manager in a consumer-packaged goods environment- Proven experience in Marketing and Brand Management which includes: - Strong sense of urgency and achievement- Flexible and ability to adapt and respond under pressure- A working understanding of the creative development process- Strategic thinker with excellent analytical skills- Excellent organizational and follow-up skills- Ability to work and manage projects independently with little or no supervision- Effective time management - ability to manage self, time, and priorities- Financial acumen, P&L understanding- Excellent presentation skills- Passionate about problem-solving.- Seeks to understand and remain open to new ideas- Exhibits intellectual curiosity- Proficiency in Google Workspace, Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP Some other nice to have’s: - Fluent in French- Experience with SAP.
