**Job description**
**Primary Objective**
Sunrider International is a multinational corporation seeking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join its Canadian office in Port Coquitlam, BC, on a full-time basis.
Reporting to the Regional Finance Manager and as a department head, the Accounting Manager is responsible for all of the day-to-day transactional activities of the Accounting Department and manages all aspects of Finance and Accounting relating to the Company.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Issue protection of the company assets through the establishment of controls and procedures.
- Implement and practice at all times the policies and procedures of Sunrider.
- Development and implementation of accounting and internal control systems and procedures.
- Management accounting, including the preparation of semi-monthly and monthly reports to USA headquarters, and all relevant governmental compliance reporting, including taxation.
- Financial reporting, including the preparation of monthly and yearly reports, forecasts and budgets.
- Relationships with outside independent auditors, banks, legal advisors, governmental agencies, customs brokers and insurance companies.
- Canada Border Services Agency, Canada-USA Certificates of Origin, maintain and update Certificates of Origin for importation purposes.
- Canada Revenue Agency, T4A and Revenue Quebec RL1, yearly filing of T4A and RL1 for IBOs and NR4 for Non-Resident IBOs.
- Training of Finance/Accounting staff.
**Qualifications and Skills**
- Professional accounting designation with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role. Experience in public accounting is an asset.
- Possess an excellent understanding of accounting principles and Canadian tax compliance.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong commitment to professional and client service excellence.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Proficiency with MS Office (advanced Excel) and proficiency in Oracle is an asset.
- Ability to establish priorities, multi-task, and provide accurate and timely information.
- Ability to deal effectively and diplomatically with people at all levels in the organization.
- Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
