Sherlock Clothing Ltd. operates two store banners, Pseudio and Envy + Grace. This position is based out of our Head Office in Halifax, NS. As a Buyer you play a key role in product mix, creating an inspiring blend of apparel and accessories to optimize the consumer experience.
- Participate in day-to-day operations of the assigned portfolio resulting in effective execution of business deliverables
- Analyze reports, sales trends, consumer buying patterns to provide short and long-term recommendations that will drive business
- Plan and manage stock levels and inventory allocation
- Monitor and improve margins and sell-throughs through analysis and action
- Collaborate on creative projects
- Liaise with Marketing and Ecommerce teams to ensure product is accurately represented across all channels
- Negotiate contract terms with suppliers in order to onboard new brands and secure preferential trade terms
- Select products to align with banner strategy and brand message
- Build strong long-term relationships with suppliers to achieve optimal delivery times, product offerings, terms and more
- Actively monitor industry trends

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Highly analytical with a strong understanding of retail math and practices
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to thrive in a team atmosphere
- Comfortable with a fast paced and dynamic environment
- Strong communication skills
- Able to travel on a regular basis within Canada and USA
- Minimum 2 years of experience in retail and/or retail buying
- Experience with ERPs considered an asset
