**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS**:

- Coach, develop and lead a growing team of 10+ high-performance sales professionals across a wide geographical distance - both individual contributors and managers. Provide clear objectives and performance guidance. Identify areas for improvement individually and for team relations. Ensure policy adherence.
- As member of the Canadian Leadership Team, contribute actively to the resolution of organizational issues, promote healthy organizational culture and cross-functional collaboration and participate in required people leader activities.
- Establish annual department budget and execute within approved operating limits; attain goals and objectives. Ensure margin / profitability targers are met and aligned with the SICK Canada business direction.
- Develop, manage and execute strategic sales plans to meet current and future sales requirements. Coordinate with other sales and operational teams as required.
- Ensure that specific knowledge transfer is conducted in a safe and efficient manner and that appropriate company personnel are trained to develop strategic relationships with key clients and industry trade groups for existing product lines.
- Provide field training for direct and non-direct sales staff, including any representative firms.
- Ownership of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) as a Key User and all related activities.
- Responsible for promoting health and safety in the department.
- Regular attendance and timeliness.
- In appearance and demeanour, always represent SICK Canada professionally and according to our Principles of Leadership and Cooperation.

**SKILLS & ABILITIES**:
**Education**:

- Four-year Post-Secondary Degree (business/commerce or related), required
- Post-Secondary Diploma/Degree in technical field, an asset

**Experience**:

- Minimum 12 years’ experience in sales of electronics, mechanics, optics, or other industrial controls and processes, or significant relevant equivalent experience
- Work experience involving sales of high-technology industrial control products through regional distributors, an asset
- Minimum 6 years’ experience leading a team of sales professionals, required
- Negotiation experience with key account executives, required

Job Specific Abilities:

- Must have excellent sales and communications skills
- Must have the ability to influence promotional efforts of distributors and their sales staff
- Must have strong closing skills and be able to directly support and help close major project business with distributor salespeople.
- Must be able to effectively communicate and manage distributors’ efforts towards promotion of SICK Canada’s products.
- Must be able to provide objective input regarding assignments of SICK Canada distributors’ accounts and of customers who purchase through alternate channels.
- Must be proficient in managing conflict and problem resolution
