Our Child and Family Practice Review team, consisting of 14 dedicated practice analysts, two managers, and one director, focuses on quality improvement through comprehensive reviews of specific incidents, injuries or deaths of children, youth or young adults. Our analysts are known for their sharp analytical skills and their ability to produce detailed reports that document findings and recommendations, all aimed at enhancing practices that support the well-being of those we serve. **The Role** As a practice analyst, you will be making a difference and improving services for children, youth, young adults, and their families. Your efforts will ensure ministry and ICFS Agency services are delivered in a culturally safe and trauma-informed manner and aligned with legislation, policy and agreements with Indigenous communities. Collaborating with ministry and ICFS Agency leadership, you will identify systemic issues, propose actionable recommendations, and analyze practice to drive meaningful change. Your strong analytical skills and ability to produce clear, concise reports will contribute to system improvement. We are seeking practitioners with a strong background in child and family services (intake, family service, guardianship, youth services). Join us in making a difference **Qualifications**: **Education and Experience Requirements** - Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Social Work OR Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Child and Youth Care OR Master of Arts in Clinical/Counselling Psychology OR Master’s Degree in Education/Counseling in conjunction with child welfare/family service work experience. - Other relevant equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered (e.g., Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services field with job-specific work experience. Human Services fields include Psychology, Sociology, Criminology, Anthropology, Early Childhood Education, Indigenous Studies, Education, Theology or Nursing). - NOTE: If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES). Confirmation for equivalency for your degree is required for you to be considered. You must request a comprehensive report and the MCFD supplemental report to be considered for this competition. - Extensive experience with the Ministry of Children and Family Development, OR an Indigenous Child and Family Service (ICFS) Agency with increasing responsibilities that reflect the depth and breadth of experience in one or more of the following service areas: child protection and family services; guardianship; adoption and permanency; youth services; children and youth with support needs; child and youth mental health; and community youth justice. PREFERENCE MAY BE GIVEN TO APPLICANTS WITH THE FOLLOWING: - Child safety experience in intake, family service, guardianship and/or youth services. - Six (6) or more years of child safety experience in intake, family service, guardianship and/or youth services. - One (1) or more years of experience as a team lead, policy analyst, practice analyst or provincial practice consultant with the ministry or an ICFS Agency AND child safety experience in intake, family service, guardianship and/or youth services. - Applicants who have a valid class 5 BC driver’s licence with no restriction or equivalent (e.g., from another Canadian province).
