Production Planner

**Production Planner (Vancouver B.C.)**

**Job Summary/Mission**

The Production Planner is responsible for the (Product Supply) accuracy and timeliness of the production process. They assist the Supply Chain/Operations team in ensuring that fulfillment needs are met in growing retail and ecommerce channels. This role should determine materials required in the production phase, consider contract manufacturer requirements, _prepare status and performance reports_, and resolve production issues with a sense of urgency. The Production Planner reports directly to the Director of Operations.

**Outcomes/Critical Success Factors**

1. Generate production schedules to ensure that production deadlines are met, and 97% fill rate accuracy is achieved.
2. Provide timely planning and scheduling of manufacturing work orders to contract manufacturers in order to achieve both internal financial goals and customer delivery dates.
3. Estimate the material requirements and contract manufacturer bandwidth, to ensure steady production and product delivery.
4. Promptly address and resolve production issues to minimize delays in production.
5. Prioritize according to demand, constraints, and promotion schedules for all channels.
6. Recommend viable solutions to reduce production costs as well as improve production processes and product quality.
7. Compile status and performance reports for management.
8. Communicate changes to production schedules with relevant departments.

10. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, BOM’s, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
11. Technical knowledge of MRP or ERP systems (SAP Business One)
12. Relevant post-education and/or certifications preferred.
