Job Description:
Position Overview:
Reporting to the Director of Professional Practice, the Manager of Professional Practice provides management, administrative, and clinical leadership in creating, articulating, and sustaining an organization-wide vision of best practice and excellence. This role also provides overall leadership in the day-to-day operations of various groups, including regulated and unregulated healthcare providers.

The Manager of Professional Practice provides leadership and guidance, including oversight of Professional Practice accountabilities and regulatory body requirements. The Manager will coordinate and evaluate opportunities for continuous quality improvement and engage with internal and external stakeholders. The Manager is also responsible for human and financial resources, risk management, healthcare professionals' placement opportunities, and promoting team efficiency and effectiveness including additional health human resource programs, vascular safety, telehealth, wound care and pain nursing teams.

**Responsibilities**:
Clinical Practice Leadership- Professional Practice Leadership- Provide clinical and management for additional health human resource programs, vascular safety, telehealth, wound care and pain nursing teams.- Promotes and facilitation of interprofessional quality healthcare delivery- Developing coalitions and coordinating activities with internal and external stakeholders- Actively participate as chair, lead or member on various internal and external committees and working groups.- Acts as a resource to clinical and non-clinical teams while keeping quality care and patient safety at the core of everything we do.- Work with partners to further develop SHN’s system integration and transformations and champion population health and equity.- Actively participate in RNAO BPSO Designation requirements and create opportunities for best practice guidelines data analysis and Clinical Information System Dashboards for quality improvement and reporting purposes- Lead Professional Practice Strategic Workplan initiatives- Participation in Manager-On-Call

People and Culture Strategy Leadership- Health human resource management- Provide leadership guidance for internal programs and ministry-funded HHR Programs, including tracking and reporting- Fiscal responsibility and recourse utilization- Lead Recruitment and Retention Initiative Strategies by partnering with Human Resources and Clinical Programs to recruit, retain and support our people and cultivate a culture of inclusion.- Professional Practice Leadership through guiding, establishing and monitoring onboarding, models of care, schedules, collective agreements requirements, etc.

Research and Education Strategy Leadership- Proactively seek funding opportunities for professional development, track and complete reporting requirements as required- Professional Practice Leadership through guiding, establishing, and monitoring student recruitment and onboarding,- Uncover and pursue innovative new ways for professional development education and research initiatives and opportunities

Requirements:
- Registered Nurse with an undergraduate degree in nursing and CNO registration- Master’s Degree in Nursing, Education, Business or Administration- Minimum 5 years of leadership or management experience in a unionized environment- Previous experience within a professional practice team as a practice leader preferred- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to foster and develop teams- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage financial and human resources- Excellent leadership and negotiating skills- Demonstrated ability to coordinate collection, analysis and presentation of information
