**EDUCATION COORDINATOR**

**Part Time - Permanent - **24 hours per week**

Salary Scale - $15.50 to $18.75 per hour

We are seeking a dedicated Advocacy and Education Coordinator for a part-time permanent position that will work within our Advocacy Department. This person has a passion for helping others and has exceptional customer service skills._

**Reports to**: Director of Network, Advocacy and Education

The Education Coordinator facilitates educational programs relating to hunger and poverty to grades K to 12 in the Manitoba school system. You will also be tasked with organizing and conducting presentations and programs at Harvest and in the community. In addition to this role, you will be supporting our Garden and Growing initiatives. This will include supervising our onsite garden, distributing our Harvest Home gardens, and building on community gardening in Winnipeg.

**What you’ll do**:

- Plan and deliver public speaking engagements to people of all ages on issues related to hunger and poverty.
- Facilitate internal visits with school and volunteer opportunities.
- Develop curriculum and programming for education and public speaking.
- Provide supervision and support to program participants and volunteers.
- Support our external garden and growing programs. Including but not limited to; our Harvest Home Garden, Harvest Community Gardens and Grow-a-row programs.
- Some physical demand will be required.
- Oversee administrative and operational tasks

**About You**:

- A strong belief in the dignity of all human beings and a positive and caring approach.
- Ability to lift, push, pull a minimum of 50 lbs., sit, and stand for extended periods of time.
- Valid MB class 5F driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract is required.
- Ability to work cooperatively alongside volunteers.
- Excellent attention to detail & strong organizational skills.
- Clear communication skills with the ability to read, write legibly and follow oral and written instructions.
- Knowledge of food-security and poverty issues (an asset).
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and child abuse registry check is required.
- Commitment to the organization’s vision of accessible, healthy, and sustainable food for all.
- A strong team focus, ability to work well with others and an interest in supporting the organization and CREW.

**_Some weekend or evening shifts may be required._**
