**The Role**:
What’s the Role

The Asset Integrity Specialist is responsible for pressure equipment integrity at our Scotford Complex. The role manages aspects of inspection, materials, welding, quality control, quality assurance, equipment design, procedure review, and creating or updating pressure equipment standards and specifications. In addition, the Asset Integrity Specialist provides technical support to operations and maintenance on day-to-day plant issues and during plant operational and equipment problems. The Asset Integrity Specialist ensures all pressure equipment is designed, fabricated, operated, inspected, maintained, altered and repaired in a manner that provides pressure equipment integrity conforming to required regulations and standards. This team member is an advocate for Pressure Equipment Safety and strive towards ZERO LEAKS. The Asset Integrity Specialist proactively improves and executes the site pressure equipment integrity management system and work processes.

Accountabilities:

- Review and approve pressure equipment repair instructions, inspection plans, MOC, reliability plans, deferrals or extensions, and RBI assessments
- Support compliance of regulatory requirements covering pressure equipment including new construction, repairs, and alterations
- Responsible for equipment re-rating, fitness for service evaluations and remaining life assessments
- Assist and coach team members in removing and overcoming barriers they find with executing pressure equipment (PEI) integrity activities
- Support Implementation and upkeep of the pressure equipment integrity management (PEIM) program
- Support the PEI work process thru all 5 stages (degradation assessments, inspection planning, perform inspection, analyze results, corrective action)
- Troubleshoot failures & provide recommendations for repair and replacement based on materials failure analysis and causal analysis
- Perform integrity quality assurance duties on assigned assets
- Provide technical input to projects to ensure adherence to Shell Group standards
- Perform failure investigations, and root cause analysis
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with multidiscipline teams to achieve results
- Support our customers, Maintenance, Projects, Turn Around, and Operations teams
- Provide technical PEI support to site operating and maintenance personnel to ensure production related items are resolved urgently
- Provide technical support to the repair, alterations, and inspection, of piping, pressure vessels, tanks, and boilers for a designated process unit within Scotford

**Skills & Requirements**
- What we need from you - _
- Preferably a bachelor’s in engineering or a technical diploma
- 5+ years of professional experience at petrochemical or other industrial sites
- API 510 or 570 including ABSA I(B)PV are preferred
- API 653 is considered an asset
- Solid working knowledge of applicable piping, pressure vessels, storage tanks and heat exchangers industry standards (ASME Pressure Vessel Code, API, ASTM, WRC, etc.).
- Fluent with MS Office suite of software incl. PI and Process Book
- Ability to decipher ambiguous data and articulate the meaning
- Strong coaching and mentoring abilities with effective delegation skills to develop junior team members or interest in mentoring others
- Ability to support during off hours and overtime as required to support with urgent plant issues
