Alberta Health Services (AHS) is looking for a dependable and mature individual for the position of Driver II that is dedicated to both high-quality work and safety. This casual position is located at the Food Service Centre. The Driver II position is responsible for transporting patient meal carts and other various products from one location to another in accordance with Alberta Health Services standards and practices. Drivers at AHS operate clean, new 5-Ton trucks with reefers. Working independently, this position requires adhering to routes and schedules, manual materials handling including loading and offloading of trucks, use of pallet jacks, working within established routines and other ad-hoc duties. This position is a great opportunity for a driver who enjoys working a variety of shifts delivering patient meal trays to various Edmonton Hospitals and contributing in a meaningful way to our patients. Since this position will involve interactions with customers, other AHS staff and members of the public, excellent customer service skills and a courteous and positive attitude are essential. Description:
As a Driver II, you will be responsible for the transportation of a range of products including but not limited to mail, pharmaceuticals, medical surgical supplies, beds, medical equipment, food, mail and linen, in accordance with accepted AHS standards, regulations and policies. You will pick up and deliver patients to appointments and other institutions/facilities. In addition, you will deliver patient trays, equipment and medical supplies to institutions/facilities.
