We are seeking a dedicated and skilled **Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)** to join our team and provide part-time therapy services to children and youth diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities. This role involves working in a variety of settings, including our center, clients' homes, and community locations.
**Key Responsibilities/Duties**:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and provide evidence-based interventions for children and youth with speech, language, and swallowing needs.
- Design and implement individualized treatment plans, incorporating best practices and clinical expertise to address each client’s specific needs.
- Prepare summary reports with goals and recommendations for families as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of therapy sessions, client progress, and outcomes in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Regularly evaluate and track progress, adjusting interventions as needed to ensure goal attainment.
- Collaborate with Registered Behaviour Analysts and client teams to implement treatment plans.
- Work with families, educators, healthcare professionals, and community partners to ensure coordinated care.
- Educate families on speech and language disorders and, offering strategies for skill development outside of therapy.
- Stay current with the latest research and best practices in speech-language pathology to enhance service delivery.
**Qualifications**:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Current registration as a member in good standing with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists (CASLPO) of Ontario, or eligibility to register with CASLPO.
**Experience/Skills**:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical setting.
- Previous experience working with children and youth with communication disorders (including speech sound disorders, such as motor speech disorders) is preferred.
- Experience working with children and youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and supporting their families is an asset.
- Excellent assessment and intervention skills with children and youth.
- Experience collaborating on inter-professional teams is considered an asset
- Experience in providing play-based therapy as a therapeutic tool.
- Superior interpersonal skills, including effective communication, problem-solving, organizational abilities, and strong time-management skills.
- Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to helping clients achieve their full potential.
- Passionate, empathetic, and able to exercise good judgment and critical thinking when making decisions about client care.
**Other Requirements**:
- Successful completion of a vulnerable-sector background check.
- Valid driver’s license, vehicle, and car insurance.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Adherence to confidentiality and ethical guidelines.
- Ability to analyze crisis situations and respond quickly and effectively.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and adaptability to using software for assessments, documentation, and communication.
