**Objectives**: To work with the clients of the YWCA Central Avenue Shelter, providing guidance, support and life skills to empower and promote independence. To maintain a clean and secure facility and assist the residents when necessary.

**Duties**:

- Guide the residents, providing support and advocacy, as they transition into adulthood/independence;
- Must be a good role model to the youth/clients;
- Maintain building security, perform room checks/bag checks;
- Ensure major housecleaning duties are complete as well as normal everyday cleaning/chores;
- Attend staff meetings, training & workshops as required;
- Communicate with Manager and co-workers as part of a cohesive team;
- Ensure room checks are completed on a consistent basis, report any need for repairs or replacement of furniture, blinds, etc. to the maintenance team;
- Provide feedback to the Manager on client issues, major events, and incident reports;
- Attend to crises as they arise during non-office hours. Contact the Manager in the event of a major crisis;
- Ensure policies are adhered to as per contract with MSS, CPS/YO & CSC;
- Prioritize work, attending to the most urgent needs of the clientele first;
- Work unsupervised;
- Maintain confidentiality;
- Must be able to cover shifts with little to very short notice;
- Must be able to work both evenings, weekends and holidays;
- Must be able to work shift work & overnights;
- Must report any instances of Child Abuse or neglect including Physical and Sexual Abuse, Emotional Maltreatment, Neglect & Domestic Violence;
- Any other duties as requested by management;
**Probation**: All YWCA Prince Albert positions contain a three-month probation period.
