Job Description
The National Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing successful go-to-market strategies that drive profitable top-line growth by building customer loyalty, increasing specification share, increasing channel strength, price management and sustaining a strong sales rep organization. The position is responsible for deploying the strategic sales plan to grow the Zurn businesses throughout all of Canada and will be based out of the GTA (Greater Toronto Area).
**Key Accountabilities**
- Directs and oversees organization's sales policies, objectives, and initiatives.
- Responsible for achieving the annual sales quota and profitability goals for all product lines.
- Instructs and counsels Area/Territory Managers to drive the strategic breakthrough activities within their territory while creating capability and capacity with each sales agent.
- Assess product line sales performance and strategic KPI’s with Area/Territory Managers on monthly basis, including development of forward looking product demand forecasts (SIOP).
- Continually monitor rep effectiveness against prior year and regional competitors, communicating competitive movements to sales and product management teams.
- Proactively communicates countermeasure actions if annual sales quota or KPI’s are below threshold measurements.
- Work closely with the Zurn Independent Sales Reps (ZSR) to understand and align their organization’s short term and long term business plans with Zurn.
- Direct the price management process which includes value selling, implementation, market pricing, rebate programs, and profitability by customer strategies.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop strategic breakthrough sales strategies in conjunction with product management tailored to market conditions.
- Develop and maintain relationships with major customers, including conflict resolution.
- Identify and prioritize strategic conversion opportunities with Contractor and Distribution teams.
- Assess and measure rebate effectiveness with contractors and distributors.
- Owns and drives the Zurn construction project funnel, ensuring predictability and ability to forecast the future sales.
- Drives and builds the Zurn Commercial/Sales Operation function for the Canada business.
- Schedules and manages sales specialist movements within the territory.
- Committed to continuous improvement and advocates the Zurn core values and principles.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree; preferably in marketing or management
- Proven 10 years sales management/technical experience calling on owners, specifiers, contractors, and distributors for plumbing related products.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Willing to travel a minimum of 50% of the time to achieve annual sales goals.
