We are currently seeking to fill a full-time Laboratory Supervisor position for our Materials Testing Laboratory at the Victoria office.

The job will consist of
- overseeing day-to-day laboratory operations,
- conducting concrete field tests, in-field construction reviews, laboratory concrete and soil tests, field density tests,
- management and training of other lab staff both in the field and in the lab,
- managing testing schedules,
- assisting with laboratory housekeeping as needed, maintaining a safe and clean working environment,
- reporting via Microsoft Word and Excel,
- distributing and filing laboratory reports
- scheduling service appointments,
- updating distribution lists,
- quality control checks,
- tracking of timesheets,
- assisting in billing and invoicing,
- managing the laboratory’s testing calendar
- dispatching staff for site work
- duties may also include asphalt testing.

Some physical work should also be anticipated - the applicant will be expected to lift and carry equipment and materials samples (including buckets of soil) from onsite to their vehicle.

The successful applicant will possess the following attributes:

- Civil Engineering Diploma or other science-related education.
- 5-10 years of experience in soil and concrete testing.
- Experience with sieve analysis and proctor testing.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with staff, clients, and contractors in both written and verbal form.
- CCIL Aggregate and/or Asphalt Certification is preferred (but not required).

**Experience**:

- soils testing: 5 years (preferred)
- concrete testing: 5 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Class 5 Drivers License and your own vehicle (required)
