Our Companions build trusting, meaningful relationships with our clients, providing in-home care which increases their independence and quality of life. We pride ourselves on matching companions with clients based on fit, experience and location, resulting in satisfied companions and clients

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Provides socialization, conversation, and emotion reassurance to the client.
- Encourages and participates in reading, games, and other activities to promote well-being and stimulate the mind and the spirit.
- Performs light housekeeping duties including vacuuming, dusting, bathrooms, and kitchen.
- Listens, observes, and communicates any concerns/changes in the client’s physical and/or emotional condition immediately to the Care Manager.
- Regularly assesses the Client’s surroundings to ensure that clients have a safe home environment (i.e., recognize fall risks) and reports concerns to the Care Manager.
- Assists and/or provides general exercises/activities to maintain mobility and independence as directed by the client, or the Care Manager at the request of the family.
- Grocery list assistant with meal preparation with clean-up.
- Performs errands related to client requests.
- Launders client clothes and bedding and assist in keeping personal space clean and tidy.
- Adheres to the safe work/risk management policies and practices of Off Our Rockers.
- Works within the Ethical Practice Framework of Off Our Rockers.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- Experience and knowledge of recreation for seniors is an asset.
- Prior companion experience.
- Warm, compassionate individuals.
- Flexible and able to converse with a wide range of Seniors.
- Standard First Aid
- Valid police vulnerable check.
- Access to a vehicle with a 2-million-dollare liability is an asset
- Driving record check (abstract)

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent, Casual
Part-time hours: 10 per week

**Salary**: $17.00-$19.00 per hour
