Good Shepherd Centres Hamilton, a ministry of the Hospitaller Order of St. John of God, strives to enhance the quality of life for all who seek assistance and support in our community. An opportunity currently exists at the Family Centre in the role of:
**Child and Youth Worker**
**Full Time**

**Responsibilities**:
Rooted in Hospitality and guided by Good Shepherd's Mission Values of Availability, Adaptability, Quality, Dignity, and Responsibility, the Child and Youth Worker will provide case management in collaboration with Family Support Workers and practical support to families and their children who are residing in the emergency shelter. Liaise and coordinate with community partners and on-site services to help children and youth achieve their goals. Develop, plan, and implement a programming schedule for children and youth including daily activities, supervising volunteers, and special events/holidays. Residential tasks may include sanitizing program spaces, replenishing toys in play room, receiving donations, unit turnovers, unit cleaning, cleaning of common spaces, preparing coffee and breakfast, and house laundry.

**Work Conditions**:
Most work is done in the emergency shelter. Driving to schools and other community agencies is required. Must be willing and able to assist in a hands-on capacity with residents. Time management skills are necessary in a high energy, changing environment.

**Hours of Work**:
Shifts are a mix of Day shifts (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and Afternoon shifts (12 p.m. - 8 p.m.). Must work one Saturday a month. Some flexibility in work hours may be required.
